CoLife Mission

Our community is built on the pillars of trust, respect and appreciation for others — regardless of age, race, culture, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, gender identity, ability, and/or political beliefs.

By joining CoLife, members are helping build a more interconnected world by agreeing to treat each other with the utmost respect, and by doing their part to ensure that every member has fair access to the opportunities on the platform.

CoLife is on a mission to make housing more affordable for all. We do this by helping you create a mutually beneficial connection that ranges across generations, cultures and lived experiences. We are also working on the number one health problem in the United States, loneliness.

‍CoLife provides an easy way to find a trusted tenant for over 30-day stays. Most of our community members are empty nesters and retirees who have extra space in their home, and delight in the idea of sharing it with a young person, like a college student, a nurse, teacher, or someone new moving to the city,  while also making some extra income every month. They may also be a 30 year old that’s bought a house and wants to pay off their mortgage faster, or a family with an ADU/cottage house/room above the garage.

‍CoLife makes home sharing safe and easy by handling all the practical nuts and bolts including user verification and background checks, secure automated payments and a customizable rental agreement. We also provide a protection plan for both parties.Before a meeting is confirmed,

‍CoLife facilitates background checks on U.S. citizens through industry leader Checkr, Inc., and identity verification for non-US citizens. The report includes a National Criminal Search, a Sex Offender Registry and Global Watchlist Search, as well as an Address History Search and Social Security Verification.

Ethics and CoLife

‍The Code of Ethics can’t clarify every real life dilemma, so we have CoLife employees who are trustworthy, and responsible advisors who received specialized ethics training and can help when you aren’t sure how to handle a particular situation.


Everyone’s Responsibilities

‍We play by the rules. CoLife complies with national, state and local laws and regulations that apply to our platform.  As a member of our community, you have a responsibility to be aware of and comply with the laws and regulations that apply to your area of responsibility, (host or guest or employee). If you don’t understand a particular law or regulation or if you are not sure if it applies to you, ask one of our knowledgeable team members.  We have a housing attorney on our team as well, should that be necessary.

Being a part of CoLife  means that we  look out for each other and take care of each other. We’ve worked really  hard to create a safe, secure and healthy environment. Every homeowner, renter and employee plays a role in protecting the safety and security of our community. DO YOUR PART!

We Respect & Protect the Privacy of Personal Information

‍CoLife wouldn’t exist without the trust of our homeowners and renters. We maintain this trust by restricting access to personal information of homeowners and renters to employees with a business reason to use it and by asking that our employees take steps to protect against unauthorized use or release of this information.

‍You are the key to keeping the Code of Ethics relevant and effective. If you see, hear, or learn about a possible violation of the Code of Ethics, please tell someone on the CoLife team, your matchmaker or Community Manager. If together we insist on respectful relationships and a safe and secure workplace, we will ensure that CoLife remains a healthy and sustainable workplace for decades to come.
